Bolero Bar - (Bars in Sidari)

Sue S

Been holidaying in Sidari twice a year for the last 6 years, have been fed and watered in many of the Bars and restaurants but nothing can compare with the food and fun offered at Boleros.  Try it you will not be disappointed.
Sexy Sam (Tom Crusie has nothing on our Sam), Georgeous George (and he really is ladies), Mathew (owner and great bloke), darling Sarah (PR), Anna (a fabulous chef), in fact they are all fantastic people, they will make you very welcome, and nothing is too much trouble for them.  Love them all to bits, and gonna see them in May for 2 weeks and back again in July for 3 weeks. Just cant wait.

Love Sue, Martin (Tortoise) and Phil.

Sidari - (Resorts on Corfu)

Sue S

Sidari is a fabulous resort.  The beaches are not fantastic but clean enough, with plenty off activities going on.  If you dont like the beach there are plenty off pools around, and you can use any of them even if not staying at that accommodation.  We have been going two/three times a year since 2000, for the last couple of years the PR's outside some of the bars were a huge problem and put a lot of people off going back, but whilst we were there last year there was a big meeting with the bar owners and the council and it was agreed to scale down on them.  This made hell of a difference and once again it was a treat walking down the main street at night, and not feel that you have to go in.  Food in Sidari is so reasonably priced, no point in cooking yourself.  Best bar we have found is Boleros in the main street, you will be made soooooo welcome there I always feel very safe in Sidari, my husband and I can often be found wandering home along the beach at 2am.  I wouldnt walk down my own street at home at night time. We have visited other Greek resorts/island but never felt truly comfortable.  Try Sidari I am sure you wont be disappointed.
Cant wait to return in May this year, then again in July, and maybe again later in the year.

Hi Lindsey and Louise, remember us, we were the old couple who sat at the end of the bar every night.  Glad you enjoyed our holiday, we certainly did.  Lindsey,  I gave George your e.mail address ok. Dont think badly of him if you dont hear from him, like you say he gets lots of phone numbers and e.mail addresses he cant contact everyone, also how does he know that you have not forgotten about him when you go home, as if anyone could forget George.  We have known George for five years and he really is a great guy.  Hope maybe to see you back in Sidari sometime.  Take care both of you.

Hi Julie, sure I remember you and your boyfriend, what a nice couple we thought to ourselves. We said goodbye to everyone on the Monday night and I must admit I shed a few tears, everyone is so nice there and make you feel so special you just dont want to leave them, wish I was there this week, really missing it all especially now back at work. You two did get some stick from our Sammy (bless him) but you must agree it was all in the best possible taste.  We have booked to go back next year for two weeks July and two weeks Septmeber, can't wait, shouldn't wish your time away I know but I enjoy myself so much when I go there. Maybe will see you again, would be nice.  Take care, love to your boyfriend, would love to see some photos if you can put them on the website.

Got back from another fabulous week in Sidari last night.

Went in Boleros every night. It was our 30th wedding anniversary whilst we were there, and the guys in Boleros made such a fuss of us.  They made in so that we will never forget it. If  you have something to celebrate whilst in Sidari do it at Boleros, the party atmosphere is every single night. If they is a large group of you they will make sure they have room for you.  The music is excellent thanks to Kev, and Sam and George are always game for a laugh.
The food is really good, the roast dinner and the full english are superb, and the lamb shank is to die for (fantastic).  Cant wait to return in 2007. Love to all in Boleros, and thanks again for everything.

Atki Aphrodite Hotel - (Accommodation in Sidari)

Sue S

arrived back from Aphrodite yesterday, first time we have every stopped there, even though we have been to Sidari two or three times every year for the past six years, it was ABSOLUTELY FANTASTIC so fantastic that we have booked to go back twice next year.  Regarding wheelchair access, there was a lady in a wheelchair staying there.  There is a ramp into the reception area and providing  you are allocated a room on the ground floor of the hotel there should be no problem.  You can ring the hotel direct on 0030 26630 95247.  Everyone speaks perfect English so you will have no problems.  We stayed in a room overlooking the main street, could not beleive how quiet it was at night even though there was night club over the road, which was going on until 6am.  I am sure you will enjoy your stay.     Want to say hi to Ericka, Yanni, Lesley, Holly and all the rest of the staff there, who made our stay so great,

Hi Sarah, you lucky thing, its freezing here, I should stay out there as long as poss if I were you.  You didn't answer my text last week (no credit again I suppose) when I asked if you would be back next year, well your last e.mail tell me you are so thats fantastic  Boleros would not be the same without its usual group of employees, as its you guy that make all us regulars come back again and again and again.  Dont forget to let me know when you get back and we will sort something out for you to come for a visit, its a long time til July.  Was looking at the photos the other day of us at the festival, all that roast lamb on the spit, never forget it or our meal at sunset beach, he he he!!

Enjoy the rest of your stay, if you see any of the boys give them big hugs from me. Take care sweetheart, really miss your happy smiling face. Have been in touch with Kev, glad he got back ok, will contact Booby as you called him sometime too.  Until we see you again, lots of love, Sue, Martin, Phil and Louise.

Sidari - (Resorts on Corfu)

Sue S

Sidiar is a fantastic place to take a holiday whether its for singles or families, you will find something for everyone.  Plenty of places to eat, the kebab house is open until 6am, so when you crawl out the bars at 3am you can still get something to eat, and the kebabs are to die for not like the ones here and really cheap.

We have been going to Sidair for the past 6 years, this year spent 6 weeks there.  Have never once been bored or tired of the place as there is always something going on, when I come home I cant wait to go again (which will be July 2007).  BOLERO BAR on the main street is the most fantastic place on earth, perhaps not as posh as some of the bars but such a wonderful atmosphere.  The staff are great, and very entertaining, especially Sexy Sam and Georgeous George, you will go in a stranger and come out a friend.  From the owner to the chef they just cant do enough for you. You always feel safe in Sidari, my husband and I walk along the beach early hours on the morning its wonderful (I wouldnt walk down my street at home after dark). There are plenty of trips to go on, but dont go with the reps as you will pay twice the price for the same trip, even though they say its not, there are plenty of tourist places throughout the town, all charging about the same price.  You must go to Paleo either on the coach or boat.
The beach there is not the best in the world however you can use the pool in any of the hotels, even if your not stopping there, all they ask is you buy a drink from them even if its only water.
MAYBE SEE YOU IN SIDARI - DONT FORGET GIVE BOLEROS A TRY -

Hi Michelle, you have nothing to worry about in going to Sidari, there is something for everyone.  The weather will be nice and hot so not much more than a swim suit needed in the day time, in the evenings you can either dress up or be casual nobody takes a bit of notice.  Plenty of free pools and a decent beach.  Evenings can either be very lively, which will be nice for you two, or very quite, the choice is yours.  Food is excellent, go onto the restaruants page on this website and you will see the ones that have been recommened by holidaymakers.  You can eat Greek, Chinese, Mexican, Italian, Indian oh and even English and the prices are very reasonable.  This is our 7th year and we go two of three time each year.  there is just so much to do if you want to, or you can just chill which we do. The Greek people are the most friendly people you could wish to meet and will make you very welcome.  Have a great time, I know you will.

Eh up Brian mi duck, Sue from Swad here.  How the devil are you?  Had some great times when you were DJ'ing in Boleros with some very late nights.  Martin and I are going back next week, gonne see a lot of changes, as you might of heard Mathew has sold the bar, which is a shame, but spoke to Sarah last week and she says the new owner is ok.  Looking forward to seeing all the guys next week.  Never know we might meet up again some time, need someone to leave all my toiletries with when we come home
Is the metro still going Take care and good luck in whatever you are doing with your life.

Yes Mathew is now running a pool bar at St. Spiridon Beach.  Went to see  him in July and he looked so happy.  The place is like paradise, and very classy, we spent most of the day with him, just eating, drinking , lazing around the pool.  We went with Sarah and George from Boleros, it wasn't long before George was having a go behind the bar and it was so funny that Mathew was having to take orders from Sarah after all her years working for him at Boleros.

If any of his regulars can go and see him he would love it, and you will have a fabulous time too, because the location is so fantastic, and he looks 10 years younger. For anyone who does not know where St. Spridon beach is, its between Roda and Kassiopi.

Love to all at Boleros, and see you next weekend.

just returned from another fantastic stay at the Aphrodite hotel, which is now

completely independent from the studios.  The staff are great and just cant do enough for you.  You can
book direct with the hotel now, and getting a flight is really easy.  They will arrange to have a taxi waiting  at the airport, and arrange the return taxi.  We are going back again for two weeks at the end of June, its fabulous.

Im sorry but I have to disagree about the food, I have been going to Boleros for the last
8 years and the food has always been good. I would recommend it to anyone, Chrissie is an
excellent cook and at the end of the day every chef can make a mistakes and I should think
this is what has happen.  I ask anyone reading the previous that you are not put off trying
Boleors, I am sure you wont be dispointed.  If there is a problem please mention it to George or
Yannis and they will gladly sort it out for you.

Yannis, George and all the staff will see you next year.  I know I should be been coming to Sidari
next week but have had to have an operation and therefore cant make it.  Love to you all.

I would highly recomment the Aphrodite hotel, its just a few doors down from Bolero.  We have stayed there many times and are going back for two weeks in September, if you go on to the Sidari Hotels website I have put some comments there and also contact numbers.  They will arrange a taxi from the airport and the people are really nice there.  The pool and pool bar are right on the beach and if you go to Boleros at night its only a few paces home.  Good luck.
