Ilios Studios - (Accommodation in Paleokastritsa)

Hi, I am somewhat confused about the other review of the Ilios Apartments.
We have just come back from our 2 week holiday in Corfu (we stayed 1 week in the Ilios). The ilios apartments in Paleokastritsa are no-where near the sea - you certainly can't see it from the veranda.
The apartments are on the outskirts of Paleokastritsa and are sited just off the main road into town. So if its peace and quiet you want...forget it. The noise of the local youths bazzing up and down the road on their various scooters and motorbikes until the small hours should be enough to keep you awake.
If you manage to sleep through the traffic noise then the sound of Jimmys bar kicking off on Wednesday night is enough to wake the dead.
Wednesday night is karoake night so if you like the melodic sound of drunken British tourists belting out "Delila" at 2.30 am then this is the place.

The noise was so bad we asked to be moved, we ended up in the Olive Grove apartments- slightly more expensive - but very quiet.

Olive Grove - (Accommodation in Paleokastritsa)

We stayed in the Olive Grove for one week (the first week was at the ilios).
we really liked it at the olive Grove. The apartment is quite large by self catering standards and you are situated qute near the "centre" of town.
The big downside is the steep hill you need to climb to get to the apartments (just by the side of the Odysseus hotel). There is a road around the back that gets you to the apartments so hire a car or scooter or be prepared for a good leg workout every day (not so easy after a litre of excellent corfu wine)
