hotel primavera

thank you to Nikhos and family. Stayed there 1-8 October 2004 very clean and welcoming. Rooms cleaned every day. Large balcony. Food available eg toastie anytime night or day. Pool very clean. Not keen on the breakfast, too basic, but you could pay extra for eg eggs if you wanted them. The farmers wine was very good. Within 10 minutes walking distance there is more eg shops, good restaurants, try Valentinos (next door also does breakfast), Dioynosis, Hotel Oscar and Viva bar (superb dj and music - r and b soul cool or what!!!) and Kirkees - superb food!!!

SIGA SIGA the pub almost next to the hotel, see Freddie or Lisa - second to none hospitality and very cheap quality drinks

watch out for the cocktail bars - very expensive- stick with those who have the prices listed or check before ordering

buy a phone card for 3 euros from the kiosk opposite the hotel it will let you phone back home numerous times to England and you won't keep losing money in 'phone boxes

boat taxi to corfu cost us five euros each return!- from Gregory's - beware of the bars though in Corfu old town as some charge an awful lot and also be careful of some pubs of Dassia Beach near the quite posh appartments as one charged us 6 euros for 2 ice lollies!!!! Ask the price beforehand or you will be ripped off

It is a shame we had to pay extra for the fridge per week. Have a safety deposit box very good - cost 15 euros per week.

Also take a torch or two for your safety - as very limited or no pavements and very dark at night - fast drivers!!!!!!!

yammas means cheers
kali mera means good morning
kali spera means good evening
most greeks speak fluent english
never met a rude Greek at all

be on time for your transfers as they will be prompt

if your flight home is after 12 noon - hotel check out time you can arrange to have the room for longer - we did not as thought it was too expensive

will probably visit again next year

hotel itself set back in quiet surroundings but minutes away are bars restaurants etc.

Me and my friend just came back from Dassia and stayed in Amalia hotel. The hotel's not all that but once your the u will soon feel at home, we had a hotal pool and a bar side which closed at 2am. Right across the hotel there was a shop for essential needs and food, there was also bars and small shops if you go towards the north. The nightlife isnt all good but if you take a taxi journey to Ipsos which is 10minutes away you will find brilliant clubs there. We wasnt that far from Corfu Town which was a 15minute journay on the blue bus which stop just outside the hotel and you will find there loads of shops and places to eat. Behind the resort the was a little road to a smallside beach, the beaches was all pebbles rather then sandy so if you prefered sandy beaches then I'd suggest you go to one of the beaches on the west. Glifada was a nice beach for 18-30s, a long side beach where you could rent sunbeds and umbrellas fro a small amount of euros. During the summer be careful on the sand as the sun can heat the sand up and can burn your feet. Ag. Gordis is a another small sandy beach on the west, i would suggest this place for older people as this beach seems more quiet and relaxed. The beaches are not far and doesnt cost alot from Corfu Town. Overall Dassia is a nice place to relax and get away. Its not far from the nightlife(Ipsos), Town centre and shops(Corfu Town) and the sandy beaches which are on the west. We would definatly recommend anyone going to stay in Dassia!!!!

We stayed at the primavera hotel in dassia between 20/08/04 to 27/08/04.
It was a fabulous hotel, very clean and well resented and the staff were fantastic, especially Nichos the hotel owner. We lived by the poolside nearly every day.
We were located close to the shops, and resturants were of plenty.
The people of dassia were a delight. Plus we were in walking distance to the main beach, and could also get to a secluded alcove of the beach just behind the hotel.
Dassia is the prettiest place i have ever stayed in, with its mountains and greenery, and the veiw from the beach is out of this world!
I would definately recommend the Primavera Hotel to anyone and my partner and myself are seriously considering returning to the Primavera Hotel again. Thankyou Nichos!!!!!

We stayed at the Tilemachos. We were very worried before we went but there really was no need. The accomodation was very good and the staff were excellent. The food we had no complaints about except they tried to give you too much. Yes the all inclusive bar did shut but we still managed to drink till very late although we had to pay for it. What the hell when you are on holiday does it really matter? The owner and his wife could not do enough for the guests in fact all the staff were very helpful. These people work very hard to ensure you enjoy your stay people did complain when they were asked to control there children but I am afraid peole dont like it when they are told their little angels are really little devils and should be told!

We have just returned from a weeks stay at the hotel Telemachos in Dassia. The staff were all very friendly and made sure you had a comfortable stay. The rooms were basic but you had all you needed, well worth buying the air con for stay as it gets very hot.The all inclusive was a good deal, food was good with quite alot of choice. We found a great English Bar in Gouvia called the Irish Knights the food was excellent, the breakfasts were the best that we had while there,They have an excellent menu with good prices.night life was good and the staff were very friendly.well worth a visit

Just come back from a week at Telemachos Hotel Dassia. This is a small, friendly hotel with a family atmosphere. Staff and management were excellent - they want to ensure that all their guests have a happy, comfortable stay. Recommend paying the extra for air conditioning. We were on bed and breakfast basis, which was good and plentiful. Only down side quite a steep slope from village to hotel.

Bamboo Taverna good. Cheapest meal was at Atalia Taverna - 4 course set menu, with wine 15 euros for the two of us (and it was good).

Best beach - turn right after coming down hill from hotel. Take first turning on left (past hotel I forget name of), and continue on the path for about 10 minutes - more sheltered and quieter than the main beach - soney though, so remember some beach shoes.

Day trip to Albania was an eye-opener. Don't recommend the Greek night organised by the reps - good entertainment, but very cramped and uncomfortable to have a meal.

Dassia is one of the best places iv'e visited. The Beach is Fantastic there's lot's of watersports to do and at nights on the beach there's a large screen television where you can watch movies it's free and great. The shopping's good ( they do a brillant version of Louis vuitton/ and Gucci handbags. Shakes is a great English bar/restaurat. It's a wonderful place and i would reccomend it to anyone. The nightlife isn't very good but if you get a taxi and ask them to take you Ipsos the nightlife is brill.

very quiet but very relaxing, not much for chidren to do but you are not very far from other places.you can be very brave and hire a car if you feel like dicing with death and the driving,or you can use the bus.we stayed at the christena app, very clean and basic, only used it for sleeping in as eating out is soooo cheap.it has a nice pool but no bar but plenty round about.their are no night clubs in dassia but lots of good bars and tavernas we had agreat time and hope you do to.

I travel to Corfu every other year and I agree with the comments that I have read on this site but, you guys have missed-out on a great bar!
It's called The Abyssos ArtBar and it is up the (steep!) hill that runs from Sophia's Corner on the coast road (links to Corfu Town)into Dassia Village, go to the village and beyond it into the hills, it is a lovely place!
Now, back to the bar, not only is it in a great location, the owners speak, Greek, English and Flemish, the atmosphere is great and.... one of the owners displays his artwork on the walls, all of them are for sale (that's the art, not the walls!).
Great place, treat yourself, you'll never believe that you're only 50 metres from the beachfront hotels. Have fun :-)

I was wondering if anyone has visited the Tilemachos hotel, and could tell what is like.

Leigh W

Dassia is a lovely resort with a narrow shingle beach with plenty of gardens running along the beach offering shade. The sea is crystal clear and has great watersport facilities. There are plenty of restaurants and tavernas and a few good bars that stay open quite late. Great Shakes is by far the best with a great atmosphere, friendly staff and fantastic food. The club scene is a five minute taxi ride away in Ipsos.
