Konaki

Restaurants in Sidari

I previously commented on Konaki Restaurant in Canal d'Amour and just realised how long ago that comment was made. I am delighted to report that the restaurant has gone from strength to strength and after 7 years, the restaurant is thriving and no wonder. Dimitri works very hard to ensure that the food is top quality and to ensure that customers are made welcome. His wife Lynn has struck up a lovely friendship with many of the returning customers and there are more than a few. Vassilis does a great job as do all the kitchen staff. I have no hesitation in saying that this restaurant must be in the running for the top restaurant in Corfu let alone Sidari. If you haven't visited Konaki then make it top of your list for 2015. Enjoy.

The Konaki Restaurant in the Canal d'Amour area of Sidari is without doubt THE BEST restaurant in Corfu! I have NO fear of contradiction here. Dimitri, the owner and his wife Lynn are a lovely young couple. Dimitri worked his way up through the ranks having previously worked in various hotels in Sidari. He has run the Konaki for three years and it has proved to be very successful. It is the only restaurant where people have to que up to get in, such is the quality of the food and service. All the staff are warm and friendly and despite the que's, you are never rushed. If you have to wait for a table, it will be well worth it. The menu is very varied with Greek dishes the speciality. However anything your heart desires is easily made if you have a specific request. Prices are very reasonable. My favourite is grilled peppers for starters then sofrito - impossible to order a desert as the portions are so generous, but seasonal fruit is always offered at the end of every meal. Many people who have been to the restaurant make it their 'regular' when they visit Sidari. I personally order food to take home to my family in Scotland as a treat. You will NOT be disappointed with your visit to KONAKI's. ENJOY

; ANYONE WHO REMEMBERS "ANNA'S" WILL BE GLAD TO KNOW THAT AFTER IT BECAME AN INDIAN RESTAURANT LAST YEAR IT HAS NOW CHANGED HANDS AND IS CALLED "IL GUSTO" ( GREEK & ITALIAN MENU )

We went in spoke to the young Greek owner and explained that we used to go in when it was "ANNA'S" to which he replied "Yes I now rent the place from Anna and I would hope you enjoy your meal".... we said we would try the "MEZE for 2 at 20 Euro's" this consists of 2 of each of the following .. Pork Steaks, Sausages, Lamb Chops, Belly Pork, Beefburgers, Steak, Pita Bread, Taziki, Salad and a pile of chips.. all for 20 Euro ( under £14 for 2 people ) they also then give you 1/2 carafe of free house wine, which is delicious or your first 2 drinks free.
BEAT THAT !

We visited Sidari in July 03. We recomend the BBQ meal for 2 (only if your hungry!). Great mix of chicken, lamb chops, sausages, chips, pita bread etc, etc. Just what you need before a long night out on the town! oh, price, cant beat it.
